From Christopher T.
“With spring now here in Minnesota, I wanted to provide some details and photos of my two centuries so far in 2015:
JayP’s Backyard Fat Pursuit
126 miles on snowmobile trails in Idaho and Montana
January 10-11, 2015
This was my second try at this fatbike race. In 2014, the elevation (between 6,600 and 8,200 feet) killed me, and I DNF’ed at about 100 miles. This year, thanks to better training and a better bike, I finished in 26:25 – good for 30th place overall (27th man). I wrote up the experience here:
Arrowhead 135
135 miles on snowmobile trails in northern Minnesota
January 26-27, 2015
This was my second run at the Arrowhead, the longest and hardest fatbike race in the lower 48. In 2014, I survived temperatures far below zero to finish in 29 hours; this year, in much better conditions and with a ton of fitness from the Fat Pursuit two weeks earlier, I knocked almost 10 hours off my time, finishing in 19:30, for 26th place overall (25th man). I wrote up the experience on my blog: http://www.tassava.com/blowing-and-drifting/2015/01/28/arrowheadcase/
More to come!
Thanks for putting on this challenge!”
Awesome job, Christopher, and some great race recaps! We look forward to see more of your adventures.
